A station more than ten years late
According to Prasarana’s statement of 22 December 2010, work on the station began in 1996 and was halted in 1997, because development around it had been delayed and few people lived in the area. Work resumed in September 2008 and was completed in early December 2010, and the station opened to the public on Friday, 24 December 2010.
The same statement describes a two-level at-grade station: two side platforms below ground level, with the rest of the structure above ground. At opening it listed escalators, lifts, CCTV, tactile guide tiles, passenger benches, a surau, and a covered walkway to the Desa Putra condominium.
